Traditional Mexican corn tostadas, baked fresh in Melbourne.
A tostada is a flat tortilla usually deep fried or baked and used as a base for any ingredients you may like.
The more popular use is to spread refried black beans, the put any toping of your preference: chicken, beef, pork, mushroms, and then put some shredded lettuce (usually iceberg lettuce), a dollop of sour cream and some shredded cheese on top and to finish it off, your favourite salsa.
